A little bit about the Midwife:

Cat on Porch.jpg

Catharine has been supporting mothers during pregnancy, birth, and their postpartum recovery since 2019. She completed her certification as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) through the North American Registry of Midwives in 2022 and is licensed in the state of Utah as a Licensed Direct Entry Midwife (LDEM). With a deep commitment to providing compassionate care, Catharine brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her work, guiding families through each stage of the birthing process with skill and dedication.

Her passion lies in advocating for trust in the birthing process and prioritizing a mother’s intuition. She firmly believes that by emphasizing proper nutrition, physical activity, emotional support, and education, women can navigate the stages of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum with grace. This approach fosters an empowering environment, encouraging women to connect with their bodies and instincts while supporting both their physical and emotional well-being.

She is a homeschooling parent, committed to physical fitness, and enjoys spending time in nature while nurturing her six wonderful children. Following her first pregnancy, she developed a profound interest in researching natural, physiological childbirth and breastfeeding. Initially, she provided doula support to several of her sisters during their first childbirth experiences.

At that time, she knew she was destined to be a midwife, but focused on supporting her family as a mother and military spouse, accompanying her partner in his career within the Army. In the spring of 2019, she began her studies as a midwife, starting with a doula course. Over the past five years, she has cared for over 200 mothers and families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She is now excited for the next phase of her journey, running her own practice in Vernal, Utah.
